apart from drooling uncontrollably when I see kirk herbstreit on espn's college gameday, I haven't mentioned much about what a college football fan I am. the best writing, week in and week out, on the game is done by espn.com's gene wojciechowski. his "bmoc" column is appallingly well-researched, superbly written, and funny as hell. best line in this week's column (regarding the end of the cal upset of msu): "it was so quiet [in spartan stadium] you could hear the spartans drop in the polls."

of course, I'd still take an hour with kirk over a season's worth of "bmoc." half an hour if he was already nude.
