What is up with friggin' Ronan Keating?! There seems to be nothing he loves more than covering US country hits in a drippy adult contemporary stylee: "When You Say Nothing At All" (Keith Whitley/Alison Krauss), "If Tomorrow Never Comes" (Garth Brooks), "We've Got Tonight" (Kenny Rogers), and now "The Long Goodbye" (Brooks & Dunn). Now apparently he and Irish singer-songwriter Paul Brady actually cowrote the last of these themselves - which just goes to show that his music sucks. B&D sang the hell out of "Goodbye" - it's one of the few of their songs I really like quite a bit - but Ronan sounds like a wad of wet tissue. Oy.
