I don't mean to sound like a shill, but in my continuing journey through the land of streaming audio channels online (it's all for the corporate life), I've discovered the greatest funk channel EVER. It's here, part of a site called 1club.fm. Annoyingly blinky ads, but no audio ads to interrupt the music - and the blinky ones can be minimized. I mean, just look at this playlist from the past 3 1/2 hours:

4:32:55 PM Parliament - P-Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)
4:24:47 PM Brass Construction - Changin'
4:21:37 PM Brand New Heavies, The - Put the Funk Back in It
4:15:24 PM Mass Production - Firecracker
4:07:33 PM Fred Wesley & The Horny Horns - Four Play
4:04:15 PM Natalie Cole - Sophisticated Lady (She's a Different Lady)
4:01:13 PM Beginning of the End, The - Funky Nassau (Pt. 1)
3:58:10 PM Con Funk Shun - Too Tight
3:54:48 PM George Duke - Reach for It
3:49:46 PM Shogun - Go Head
3:43:01 PM Bootsy Collins - Stretchin' Out (In a Rubber Band)
3:38:20 PM Tony! Toni! Toné! - Born Not to Know
3:30:29 PM Players Association - We Got The Groove
3:27:01 PM Prince - Shockadelica
3:20:28 PM Herbie Hancock - Ready Or Not
3:16:09 PM Wild Cherry - Baby Don't You Know
3:12:50 PM Brass Construction - Can You See the Light
3:07:02 PM Isley Brothers, The - Rockin' With Fire
3:03:15 PM Fat Larry's Band - Boogie Town
2:59:46 PM Lenny White / Twennynine - Peanut Butter
2:56:30 PM Lyn Collins - Think (About It)
2:48:43 PM Well Red - Get Lucky
2:46:03 PM George McCrae - I Get Lifted
2:42:08 PM Reddings, The - Remote Control
2:34:26 PM Players Association - Get Down Mellow Sound
2:28:54 PM Bill Summers & Summers Heat - We Call It the Box
2:26:22 PM Commodores, The - Machine Gun
2:22:52 PM Curtis Mayfield - Future Shock
2:20:56 PM James Brown - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag
2:15:07 PM Vernon Burch - Get Up
2:11:17 PM O'Bryan - Lovelite
2:04:58 PM Madame X - Just That Type of Girl
2:02:02 PM Maceo & The Macks - Soul Power 74 (Part I)
1:55:29 PM Ollie Baba - Stomp Your Feet
1:47:30 PM Rick James - You And I
1:41:51 PM Johnny "Guitar" Watson - Superman Lover
1:35:32 PM Pleasure - Glide
1:29:34 PM Prince - P Control
1:24:18 PM Uncle Louie - Full Tilt Boogie
1:20:44 PM Average White Band - Cut the Cake
1:14:54 PM Hamilton Bohannon - Let's Start The Dance
1:10:59 PM Brides of Funkenstein, The - Disco to Go
1:07:08 PM Lenny Kravitz - Always on the Run
1:00:05 PM MFSB - Freddie's Dead

No, not everything's golden. But the obvious stuff, by and large, is the really good obvious stuff - cf. JB, P-Funk, Bootsy, Rick James - and there's plenty of buried treasures (I've never heard of Players Association before, but their tracks are hot) and deep cuts (of all the Prince tracks to play, they pick "P Control" and "Shockadelica"?! Joy!). I am very, very impressed. (And by the way, in another genre entirely, their Classic Country channel's fairly ace as well.) Did I mention no-glitch streaming, and no audio ads? My workday is officially much better.
